Eco House - Earth Day 2012

Name: Eco House - Earth Day 2012

Client: National Geographic

Location: Taipei Main Station - Taipei, Taiwan

Date: 2012

The Eco House was designed and built by Miniwiz for National Geographic’s 2012 Earth Day activations. National Geographic Channel wanted to deliver a reminder of the importance of the smaller daily decisions we all make in our lives which can have a huge impact on the environment. The Eco House was built with 4,000 Polli-Bricks, and marked the first appearance of the Miniwiz ceiling panel – Rice Fold.

Rice Fold is an origami ceiling panel made with Polli-Ber (recycled water jugs and rice husk), designed to be an economic and ecological alternative to traditional office ceilings.

A demonstrative reminder of living consciously, the Eco House showcased sustainable products such as a hybrid car, energy saving tips, and sustainable furniture and décor.
