The Capital, covering and entire basketball court, was installed on a parking lot in the heart of Taipei for Nike in the summer 2013. Suspended from 2 cranes and anchored to the floor with metal pillars, the Big Top was installed within a day and remained on site for a whole month, hosting NBA games and other events organized by Nike.

 

Material

  • one-piece PET fabric, recycled from post-consumer water bottles
  • architecture grade fabric, water and UV resistant for outdoor usage
  • fully re-recyclable

 

Facts

Date: August 2013
Performance: the hanging system combined with the articulated columns enabled to fold down the umbrella and fix it close to the ground. This made Area 13 pass the typhoon season without any damage.
