SRPX - Self Reinforced Polymer Matrix ™ SRPX is a polymer composite material, building upon traditional thermoplastics’ qualities. PET yarn is woven into a matrix which is fused with a lower melting point PET in an ABA layer set up, (B) being the matrix and (A) being lower melting temperature PET. While the (A) layer provides rigidity, the woven matrix inside gives it a higher tensile strength. Altogether SRPX provides high stiffness, impact resistance and weight reduction all while being made from recycled reclaimed consumer waste PET and capable of being fully recycled again after it’s life-cycle is over.
SRPX processes at relatively low temperatures and is capable of being thermo formed, bent and machined just like regular sheet materials. It also comes in a large variety of possible colors, with yarns individually colored, horizontally and vertically color oriented, and combined with any color of PET to fuse the matrix.
SRPX will also be available in a variety of structures and usages: Sporting Equipment- Ice hockey protective gear, skiing equipment, golf clubs Transportation- boat, road vehicles, aircraft, aerospace technology industries Consumer Goods- electronics products, digital equipment, cellular device cases, footwear
