Q. What is HYmini’s maximum wind speed ?
A.The power stored exponentially increases with higher wind speed until 40 mph. Please note the first generation of HYmini is designed to capture wind power between 9-30 mph. The maximum capacity is set at 40 mph (65kmh) , which means extra power cannot be converted after that point.
-
Q. What is the minimum wind speed to generate power ?
A.To activate the fan and to attain enough power to charge the product, a wind speed of at least 9 mph is required. When the device is charged by wind power, a green light adjacent to the turbine will turn on to indicate that the internal battery of the device is charging.
-
Q. Is it water-proof ?
A.HYmini is light moisture-proof in most situations. In another word, HYmini is weather proof not water resistant. Avoid using HYmini when you think the unit might get drenched.
-
Q. Is the turbine dangerous? Is it safe for children ?
A.The turbine is designed with a soft flexible PE material and is designed to break off during miss-use or impact. You can replace the fan by purchasing a replacement fan pack from the online store. Due to its small size and it detachability, HYmini device is not suitable for young children.
-
Q. Is it normal to hear noise while the turbine is rotating?
A.It is normal and safe to hear the buzzing (cranking) sound of the mini generator during charging especially at high wind speed.

Q. How to charge my device with HYmini ?
A.To charge your other 5V handheld devices through its USB 2.0 outlet. Insert USB transfer cable provided to connect HYmini and your mobile phone. Shift the switch to charge position to charge your mobile phone. Use the original manufacture USB core to charge your MP3 and other handheld devices. Note: you do not need to use the USB transfer cable provided to charge iPod ®, MP3 players, and other devices.
-
Q. Can I charge my mobile phones ?
A.Various adaptors included in the HYmini Basic Package allow you to charge mobile phone.
Please download USB Adaptor Mobile Phone Support List for latest information. -
Q. Can I use HYmini with no power stored?
A.Yes, HYmini can be use as a wall plug charging adaptor for many of your handheld devices.
First, connect the wall plug adaptor into Hymini’s DC jack.
Then, use the USB transfer cable to connect your mobile devices with HYmini’s USB 2.0 outlet. Shift the switch to charge position to begin charging.
-
Q. How long can the battery last ?
A.Lithium Ion polymer rechargeable battery has around 500 complete charge cycles. If the battery is fully charged every time, it should have at least of 1000mAh of stored capacity for you to transfer this power to other 5V devices up to 500 times. A conventional mobile phone has around 0.4Ah to 0.7 Ah of battery capacity.

Q. How to input power and store into HYmini ?
A.5V 1A Max limitation through 110/220 wall plug through included AC-DC adaptor via HYmini’s DC input jack
laptop or desktop USB outlet via HYmini’s DC input jack
linkable HYmini solar battery attachments with 0.7W Max capacity via HYmini’s DC input jack
Built-in supplemental wind generator with 1W Max capacity with zero battery loading. Input voltage and current varied with different wind speed and battery loading conditions, and due to safety reason for HYmini’s lithium ion battery, the generator will cut off charge into the battery at 40 mph.
-
Q. How to start ?
A.Step 01: charge your HYmini with included wall plug adaptor by inserting the adaptor’s connector into its DC jack until charge indicator turns green ; Step 01 is highly recommended for the first time (approx.4 hours)
Step 01: HYmini is now ready to charge your other 5V handheld devices through its USB 2.0 outlet. Insert USB transfer cable provided to connect HYmini and your mobile phone. Shift the switch to charge position to charge your mobile phone. Use the original manufacture USB core to charge your MP3 and other handheld devices.

Q. How long does it take to fully charge HYmini?
A.With conventional 110-220 wall plug, HYmini takes at least 4 hours to fully charge. It depends on the environmental condition and the number of solar battery you have, Solar batteries can potentially fully charge HYmini’s internal battery.
Note: Wind generator is designed as a supplemental source, hence can not fully charge HYmini. -
Q. How do I know HYmini is fully charged by AC-DC wall-plug adaptor ?
A.Using the AC-DC adaptor provided in the box, connect HYmini™ to a 110/220 wall electrical outlet through the DC input jack. An indicator on the side, adjacent to the USB outlet, turns red when the device is charging.
Once the indicator turns green, it implies the internal battery has completed charging. Note that a safety control circuit protects the device from being overcharged.
-
Q. How to use miniSOLAR (solar battery)?
A.To charge HYmini using the solar battery, follow these instructions and preconditions:
1.Connect the HYmini wind unit to the solar battery through DC input jack, and place the battery in a position where it can absorb radiation.
2.The side indicator turns red when enough sun/light power is converted into electricity current and stored in the device’s internal battery.
The indicator on the side turns green when HYmini internal battery completes charging. The safety control circuit protects HYmini from being overcharged.
3.To link two or more solar batteries together, you can connect multiple batteries by linking the (female) DC jacks one after another.
NOTE:Power converted by multiple solar batteries is cumulative; therefore, the more batteries you have the more power is stored.
The efficiency greatly increased with full direct sun. When charging with a completely empty battery, the device will take longer to charge.

Q. Why is miniSOLAR package made of card board paper ?
A.Continuing with our renewable concept, HYmini’s mini solar battery has no electronic component and potentially explosive rechargeable battery built-in, henceforth; there is no need for additional plastic casing to protect against the heat from the sun and wetness from the environement. Recycled card board paper required the least amount of energy to produce comparing with other plastic materials.
